It seems that I can only blog once a week. Not sure what the problem is, but this is the way it works I guess. We have had a crazy fun week all while I have been hacking my lungs up. I have had this nasty cough/sore throat/sinus/headache/etc.... for about 2 weeks now- I'm. OVER. IT. But life goes on, so I hosted a few events at our house this week that were planned pre-sickness.

Tim's birthday was on Monday so we all went to eat, and then the family ventured over to our house for cake and presents. It was a lot of fun, yet weird being at our own house, not sure when that will sink in.

On Thursday, I had all of the kindergarten teachers/assistants/friends over to our house for our monthly party. We always have so much fun, I am so thankful to work with such a wonderful group of people! We showered Rebecca and her 2nd baby boy on the way with some diapers, wipes, and goodies also!

Friday night we had some friends over to eat and celebrate again. We had so much fun! It was a house full, and we did lots of laughing!

On Saturday, we went shopping in Greenville and then went to look at some furniture that my dad's friend is getting rid of. We are very excited about getting some of it. I love to get furniture anyways, but there is something special about getting furniture that has a history.
I also snagged these cute things up.......

I love Kirklands! So much wonderful stuff, and at such good prices. This little wall/outside of the counters needed a little something, it's one of the first things you see when you walk in our back door.

So- Today has consisted of me sleeping late because I got no sleep last night because of coughing. We went to my parents for lunch and then came back home to show our house to our family friend (same one who is giving us the furniture).

I didn't go to church tonight because I am literally coughing every few seconds, didn't figure that would be too lovely in the service. I have been laying on the couch, and then realized that some stuff I wanted to get done was not doing itself so I began organizing.

Got some new baskets at Target yesterday so I went through and got some things together. I have began establishing a little "stock pile" since I am now doing coupons! Pretty excited about that.

One of these days I will have something exciting to talk about- but for now, it seems to always be boring house stuff, Sorry folks!

I am now waiting on Tim to come home with supper, then I will take my cough medicine and I am hitting the bed. Night :)

More Weekend Accomplishments

This weekend, I was determined to get to work on our guest bedroom. I know this isn't a huge deal, but you see- our guest bedroom is kind of a cut through in our house. Every time I would walk through, I hated it... like made my skin crawl. Something about it was not working for me. I wish I would have taken a "before" picture, but didn't think about it... and honestly, I didn't think I would like the "after" as much as I do! We didn't touch any of the paint, but it looks like a completely different room! My lovely parents helped us take down the queen size bed we had in there, and we put a full bed instead. I know it is not much difference in the sizes, but the headboard on the queen was R-I-D-C-U-L-O-U-S. It's a pretty bed, but it just took over our room. So, after putting the full bed in there, Mom and I ventured out shopping last night while the men watched TV and I snatched up this new bedspread.....

I love it.. and it was a cheap fix!

I also took a bookshelf that had been sitting in the room without hardly anything on it and so I decided to put it to good use. I want this room to be a bedroom for our friends/family if needed, but also serve a purpose (SPACE) for us. We have two sets of built in bookshelves in our living room, so I didn't see the need in making this bookshelf look fancy and collect dust. So.......

This is now my craft organizing shelf! I'm obsessed.

Mom and I went all over town today looking for these crazy baskets....... like 5 places to begin with, and we ended up at a dollar store to run up on these little beauties!
FYI- When I get one of those brainstorming thoughts in my head, I HAVE.TO.DO.IT.THEN. I admit, it's an annoying habit- ask my dad and my husband, but hey.... it gets things done!

So, needless to say I feel much better about our room now, and I can walk through it without getting chill bumps.

Let me note that I did not purchase anything to put in this room except the baskets and the bedspread. Everything else was things we have had that we bought before the wedding, and things that have not had a home before now. I also went and pull some of my old bedroom decor from years back and worked that into the room (topiary shelf, candlesticks, turquoise/brown lamp, etc.)
*That's why you never throw stuff away or give it away too soon- hence why I'm married to Fred Sanford himself.

Speaking of my sweet hubby, he turns 25 tomorrow! Yay! I will update with that soon!
