Christmas, Packing, and Cocks

Well, we have now started packing everything in the lake house up. It's a complete disaster.. I really do not understand how people live in clutter. The house isn't THAT bad, it is just boxes everywhere. Now, next time someone comes to our house it will probably be a wreck because I just made that statement. Anyways- I can't handle it. Ready to move. Ready to get settled. End of story.

We did lots of Christmas shopping yesterday, and for the first time ever we fought the Wal-Mart madness on Thursday night. People really need to get a life calm down with the "Black Friday" stuff. It was completely insane and unlike anything I have ever witnessed before. When you begin fighting over bed sheets, from Wal-Mart, then there's a problem. And I mean weave ripping, hands flying, and sheets being thrown all over the place. HYSTERICAL. It was worth it to me just to people watch, even though we did get some toy shopping done $200.00 later.

This Christmas season has been very different. With the packing we are doing, and not being at home- I have been missing out on decorating my parents house. We did go with them today to pick out the Christmas tree though which is always fun. Thats the best way to be put in the Christmas spirit- a real tree, with a real sap smell. Gotta love it. This year, Tim and I will not have a real tree because of the time crunch, but next year we will and can't wait :)

With today being the Saturday after Thanksgiving, everyone and their mama is discussing the Carolina/Clemson game, especially on Facebook. I am banning facebook until tomorrow. Yes, I am a huge football fan- but do the statuses about football really have to start, like yesterday? We are about to head out and pick up some wings and watch the game now, yum... catch up later.

GO COCKS!

Ramblings about Thankfulness

Happy Turkey Day Eve!

We have been pretty busy lately with school, work, family, and house situation. We spent last weekend in Charleston celebrating a special baby's birthday...

I can't believe Waker is already 1! Where has this past year gone? He had such a fun party that consisted of babies, family, and friends getting together outside and enjoying the awesome fall weather. It is always so good to see that little sweetie since it doesn't happen too often.

We came home on Sunday to start a short work week. This little Thanksgiving break was much needed! Between work and the house stuff going on, our heads have been spinning. Speaking of this-
I believe we can finally see the end of the long complicated tunnel. It looks like we will be closing on our house next Wednesday. I spent the day today packing up at the lake. I took everything off the walls and began packing up some little "sit arounds". There is still lots to do, and our house is a wreck right now- but I can handle it for one week. We have also been refinishing some furniture. We are working on a bakers rack right now that I am painting black. Tim is working on an antique armoir that has been stored for a long time. It is actually my dad's dad that built it. We are so excited to be able to use it in our home.

As of tomorrow- we will be going to Spartanburg to spend Thanksgiving with Tim's family, and then coming back to do Thanksgiving with my family. I love turkey day... it's a fun time filled with yummy food, family, and busting out the Christmas decor! By the way, I am about to explode wanting to decorate for Christmas. I have everything planned out of where it is going to go in our new house. I have joked and said that Tim will be fixing stuff in the house and I am going to be sneaking and decorating the Christmas tree, we shall see.

                                                            Ahhh... can't wait.

On this Thanksgiving Eve I am thinking about all we have to be thankful for this year. A roof over our head, a happy 5 months of marriage, a wonderful family, good health, and lots more. I make a point each day to be thankful for the many blessings we are given, so days like tomorrow are always extra special to me.

Hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving!

A Catch up on life

Well, it's post Halloween and I can tell... unlike my children at school today, I have been off my sugar high for about 12358958 hours now. I came home from school today, cooked supper, had a shower, and was on the couch at 8:00. Amazing feeling. We had a fun Halloween hanging out at my parent's house and giving out candy to the trick-or-treaters. I have always loved Halloween, it is such a fun holiday and it reminds me that my favorites are around the corner: Thanksgiving and CHRISTMAS! I am not believing that Christmas is less than 2 months away. Wow, and that on Christmas day Tim and I will be married 6 months. Time is flying.

On that note, we have been pretty consumed with purchasing our first home! Exciting, right?! After looking pretty frantically for a few weeks, we came across one that we believe is perfect for us, and in the location that we have been wanting. We also believe that it is a complete blessing because the sweet contacted us just by word of mouth. Couldn't be any more perfect. We went and looked at the house 3 times, took the families, and decided to make an offer. Whew, that was the easy part. Now comes the bank paperwork, inspection, termite inspection, appraisal, and the list goes on and on...... It is pretty complicated and this process has been very exciting, emotional, stressful, and fun. If everything goes "as planned" our closing date is set for November 30!!! We can't wait to get in there, decorate, and make it our own home. We already have some great ideas of what to do. Perfect timing for Pinterest and Hobby Lobby to come into play-- I can already tell I'm going to get myself in trouble :) So- the next few weeks will be consisting of packing all of our things up, finding and refinishing old furniture, and organizing.

Off to go finish watching 90210- hope to blog more soon!
